Rod + Diana.

8th April, 2012

Bangalore

Meet Rod and Diana, my two very good friends from Ooty. I met these two back in 2011 when I started my short stint with Freedom Firm. The very first activity that we did together was to watch Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara at Ooty’s one and only movie theater – Assembly Rooms. I was the only Hindi speaker in the group, so I played the role of translator through the film! Thankfully I’d seen the movie already though so it wasn’t too hard.

A few days after that I had my first ‘Thursday night dinner’ at Rod and Diana’s. Jen, my roommate and fellow volunteer at Freedom Firm, and I made our way to their place, and that was the day that it dawned on me… oh my word, I love these two awesome people!

The love grew pretty consistently over the next three months that Jen and I were there. Thursday nights were the highlight of our week, dinners soon turned into sleepovers, and before we knew it we were hanging out almost every day!

As you can imagine it was pretty rough having to say goodbye to these lovely friends when my time with Freedom Firm came to an end and so it was my absolute delight to have Rod and Di come stay with me in Bangalore this past weekend. We didn’t do a whole lot but just chatted late into the night and had some great and much needed conversation about life and everything. What more could I ask for?

Rod and Di, I love you guys! I am always blessed by our conversations and can’t wait to do this again!
