Full of history, colourful old buildings, quaint (and very walkable) streets. Charleston lived up to every bit of its’ famed charm.

Travel Journal: Great Ocean Road-Trippin’ http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/1424 Tue, 26 Nov 2013 13:14:53 +0000 http://www.tinanandi.com/?p=1424 Being here is so surreal. It’s been a couple of days now but I still can’t believe it.

My friends Niru, Russ and I road-tripped down the Great Ocean Road today. We covered about a total of 600 kms and there was never a dull moment. The landscape changed continuously and I grew deeper and deeper in awe with every passing minute. What an incredibly beautiful planet we have been entrusted. What a beautiful design. Just thinking about it makes me want to gush.

Here are a few images from the day. They don’t do justice but they’re something.

The lonely auto. http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/485 http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/485#respond Sun, 28 Oct 2012 19:09:00 +0000 http://66.147.244.79/~tinanand/2012/10/29/the-lonely-auto/ This evening, SharanAnu and I went on a Light-painting mission. After being attacked vehemently by mosquitoes in the gardens of Cubbon Park, we moved to the road (inside Cubbon Park). There we found a lonely parked auto so we decided to cheer it up a little bit and this is what resulted…So much fun!

Exploring Bangalore: Avenue Rd. and Khau Galli http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/488 http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/488#respond Wed, 17 Oct 2012 12:25:00 +0000 http://66.147.244.79/~tinanand/2012/10/17/exploring-bangalore-avenue-rd-and-khau-galli/
On the weekend, a couple of friends and I went to Avenue Rd. and I have to say, I was quite shocked by the congestion! I’ve seen that and lived with that when I was in Bombay but I didn’t know it could get that crazy in Bangalore! Also, to my surprise there’s a ‘Khau Galli’ in Bangalore! After bemoaning Bangalore’s lack of Street Food culture, this place felt a little like Cloud 9. The North Indian food is definitely not up to the mark, but Gobi Manchurian, soft-as-clouds Idlis, and Pooran Poli – WIN!

"Setting theek nahi hua, kya?" http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/502 http://www.tinanandi.com/archives/502#respond Mon, 30 Jul 2012 09:09:00 +0000 http://66.147.244.79/~tinanand/2012/07/30/setting-theek-nahi-hua-kya/
Funny story.

I set myself up at the other side of this road to try and capture this mechanic sort of shop with the traffic going in front of me. I want to get a blurry effect of the moving traffic so I deliberately set my shutter speed to 1/10sec and I kind of liked what I ended up with.

Of course I attracted a whole lot of attention in the process and the fellows were real curious about why I was photographing them. One of the older men asked to see the picture and when I showed him the results on the display, he silently observed and then looked up at me and very kindly asked, “setting theek nahi hua, kya?” (you didn’t manage to get the right setting?)

Haha! I tried to explain that I was going for the blurriness so I set it up like that. I don’t think he bought it.

*sigh*

An ancient water tank in Malabar Hill. Ban = arrow. Ganga = Ganges river. Legend has it that it came to be when the exiled Ram was came to stop here on his search for Sita. Laxman shot an arrow into the ground and water gushed from the ground to creating a tributary of the Ganga. This is my humble attempt to document Banganga. What struck me first about this place were all the ducks and geese! Bombay is full of surprises.

I have to admit that I was so not in the ‘mood’ to photograph on this day. I wasn’t expecting to see anything new and it’s true in a sense, there is nothing ‘new’ under the sun. But it’s new to me. Every experience counts. Everywhere there is beauty.
