Wouldn’t that be nice.

Hello world!
I know it has been really silent around here. I have great plans of coming back to this blogging world with somewhat regularity soon. There are many stories to tell. Many life-lessons that I’ve been learning to share but finding some quiet space and time to write has been a challenge lately.
Anyway, in the meantime, just wanted to share one exciting development with TNP! I am starting to design Wedding Coffee Table Books!! I’ve been wanting to do this pretty much as long as I’ve been wanting to do Wedding Photography (which is a long time!)
It’s such a joy to see my images in print! There’s just nothing like actually flipping through a physical book of photographs. For as long as I can remember I have always loved going through our family albums and the old, musty albums in my grand-mom’s house in Bombay. Pictures from a time before I was born with so many stories revolving around them.
Kate Anderson says it well, “Printed books never become obsolete, technology does”.
And so my earnest hope is that in our day of iPads, Internet, Hard drives, Kindles, Cloud computing, etc etc, we will invest in preserving our memories in actual print. Something that we can hold in our hands. Something that our grand kids will one day pull out of the closet like a piece of treasure. And they will settle themselves in our laps and flip through the book, asking us lots of questions, laughing at our expressions and our sense of fashion and marveling at how young we once were!
Wouldn’t that be nice.

  • Jack Billington - How exciting!

I also mourn the changes of this age where more and more happens on the screen. Books are beautiful. Books full of photos are truly treasures!ReplyCancel

  • Grandma - What a beautiful idea !

  • Deepa - Lovely!! Great idea! Our “official” wedding album is pretty bulky. But my parents chose just a few special pictures and printed them to make a small album. That little album has been flipped though SO MUCH that they just got it re-bound. (It’s only been 5 years!!)
So I know what you mean.

How about coming up with a coffe table book for sale?? With pictures on a theme close to your heart?? Maybe your favorite bible verses with appropriate pictures! I’d buy that!!ReplyCancel
